GREEK NATIONAL OPERA: "LANDSCAPES"

31 March 2017- 10 May 2017 The first dance production of the Greek National Opera, at the Central Stage of Stavros Niarchos Foundation

The first production of the Greek National Opera, at the Central Stage of “Stavros Niarchos” Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC), was the triptych LANDSCAPES which opened a new road in the artistic identity of the Greek National Opera Ballet by combining different styles of new classical ballet.

The former Director of Paris Opera Ballet and worldwide well-known prime dancer and choreographer Benjamin Milpieu, presented his choreography for the first time with the Greek National Opera Ballet, entitled “Sarabande”. The British famous choreographer Douglas Lee presented his new creation entitled “Fortress” and Antonis Foniadakis presented his choreography “The Shaker Loops”.

Antonis Foniadakis chose for his first work with Lorraine’s Ballet, one of the most famous music works of John Adams, the “Shaker Loops” composed in 1978 for a septet of strings.

The Artbassador granted the license to the Greek National Opera, for the usage of the work THE SHAKER LOOPS by John Adams, on behalf of the Publishing House Chester Music Ltd.
