THE CUNNING LITTLE VIXEN opera by Leos Janacek

28 March 2015- 05 April 2015

It is with great success that the GREEK NATIONAL OPERA presents for the first time in Greece in an indoor theatre, Leos Janacek’s masterpiece “THE CUNNING LITTLE VIXEN”. This is the legendary production originated at the Welsh National Opera and the Scottish Opera directed by the famous David Pountney and especially arranged for the Greek National Opera.

The Greek National Opera adds for the first time a work by the great Czech composer who is considered to be one of the most important composers of the 20th century.

This allegorical work of dreamy music that Janacek composed in the twilight of his creative course is a hymn to the cycle of life, presented with tenderness, humor and realism.

This is an opera for all audiences, young and old, which elaborates the miracle of life and presents in a simple way the human values and ideals, through the relationship of men with animals, as the story of the opera is about a vixen’s life as she grows and falls in love, creates a family and dies in the end.
