TRIBUTE TO ODYSSEAS DIMITRIADIS

06 March 2026 THE ATHENS STATE ORCHESTRA AT THE ATHENS CONSERVATOIRE

Honoring the memory of the great conductor Odysseas Dimitriadis, the Athens State Orchestra in collaboration with the Athens Conservatoire, presents a concert - tribute to his long and notable career.

From the podium of the Bolshoi to the Tchaikovsky Conservatory and Athens State Orchestra's podium,  Dimitriadis marked the 20th century as a composer, arranger and conductor of international prestige,  presenting audiences great works of Russian and Greek repertoire.

Under the music direction of the conductor Ch. Kolovos, the Orchestra will present works and arias by Zacharia Paliashvili, Odysseas Dimitriadis, Aristotelis Koundouroff, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Alexander Borodin, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Spyridon Samaras, Anton Rubinstein and Modest Mussorgsky.

THE ARTBASSADOR provided the Orchestra with the music material of S. Rachmaninoff's and M. Mussorgsky's works, on behalf of the Publishing Houses Boosey & Hawkes and Breitkopf & Härtel accordingly, and the music material of Zacharia Paliashvili's work, on behalf of the conductor Vakhtang Rakviashvili, via Athens Embassy of Georgia.
