“L’ emmerdeur” at Apothiki Theater

04 November 2015 Francis Veber's black comedy

Francis Veber’s black comedy «L’ emmerdeur» premiered in November 4, 2015 at Apothiki Theater, Athens. The play, directed by Vassilis Myrianthopoulos and translated by Adonis Galeos, is based on another play of the same playwright titled “Le contrat” (1971).

The play was set to become a movie twice: in 1973 directed by Édouard Molinaro, featuring Lino Ventura και Jacques Brel, and in 2008 by Francis Veber. In Greece, the movie is known with the title “A pain in the ash” since 2009. In March 2016, the play will be premiered at London West End, in arrangement and direction of Sean Foley, with Kenneth Branagh & Rod Brydon as leading actors. Athens Theatres present this play to the Greek audience this year, for the first time.
