L' AMANTE ANGLAISE by Marguerite Duras

At Ekstan Theatre, since 16 December!

A woman confesses to having committed an outrageous crime. A common, silent woman who used to spend hours in her beloved garden. What happened, leading her to become a cruel murderer?

Inspired by a real crime that shocked the French society in 1949, Marguerite Duras' "L'Amante Anglaise", which premiered in 1968 at the Théâtre national populaire - Théâtre de Chaillot, is a deep examination of the female and human personality.

A beautifully poignant and emotionally powerful story about love, repressed emotions lurking beneath the surface and the unpredictability of human nature!
