With this emotionally symbolic Concert which connects the Holly Passion with the human drama, the Athens Concert Hall began the popular circle Adagio – Music for Easter days. This event marks the beginning of music performances of the International Art Expedition ‘’Documenta 14’’ which is organized in Athens this year, apart from Kassel of Germany. It is a project of the artists Ross Birrell and David Harding, based on the famous «Third Symphony» of the Polish composer Henryk Mikolaj Gorecki (1933-2010), widely known as «Symphony of Sorrowful Songs».

It is a touching lament for orchestra and soprano in three acts, each one focuses on the feeling of despair, the separation and the loss that a parent and child experience, as result of war.

Part of the earnings were donated to the program ‘’Medicines Sans Frontiers’’ for the refugees, as well as the ‘’Pink Box’’ an initiative of Athens State Orchestra for the support of the children of refugees, hosted in our country.

The Artbassador provided the Athens State Orchestra, with the music material, on behalf of the Publishing House Chester Music Ltd.
