LA MAMMA by André Roussin

Α hilarious French comedy about the adventures of a famous 'Don Juan'!

Catania, Sicily 1935. The handsome Antonio Maniano, the eldest son of the adorable Sicilian Mama Rosa and famous Don Juan storms into his mother's house announcing great news: he is getting married to the beautiful Barbara Puglisi! Two years after the wedding, the scandal breaks out! Antonio suffers from a temporary sexual "difficulty", which threatens his marriage and reputation as the heartthrob of Rome. The resourceful Mama Rosa must act quickly. Will she succeed in saving her son's wedding and the honor of the Maniano family?

“La Mamma”, the hilarious comedy by André Roussin, based on Antonio Brancati's novel "Il Bell Antonio", first premiered at the Theatre de la Madeleine in Paris in 1957. The play became an enormous success and in 1960 was adapted for cinema under the title "Il bel Antonio", directed by Mauro Bolognini and starring Marcello Mastroianni.

This exceptionally amusing comedy is being staged at Aliki Theatre / Athens, production of "ATHINAIKA THEATRA", in translation by Theodore Petropoulos and under the direction of Costas Tsianou, starting from 24 October, in a charming performance rich in unexpected twists, promising a unique entertainment full of laughter! Starring: Vicky Stavropoulou, Christos Chatzipanagiotis,  Maria Filippou, Sokratis Patsikas, Marinos Konsolos, Konstantina Kommata, Giannis Roussos, Stratos Christou, Danai Kalachora, Katerina Maoutsou, Alexandros Zouganelis.
