If there’s a theatrical equivalent to scoring a championship-winning goal, 30 year-old playwright Sarah DeLappe has certainly done it with her debut play, ''The Wolves''. As soon as it premiered in New York, the play became something of a phenomenon. ''The Wolves'' received the American Playwriting Foundation's inaugural Relentless Award (2015), was a finalist for the 2017 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and a New York Times Critic's Pick.

 “The Wolves” is a powerful story about female adolescence and young adulthood. Following a high-school girls’ soccer team before games, the play explores magic teen’s world. The nine young girls wage battles, facing issues of kindness, betrayal, sexual awakening, rebellion and personal growth and at the end they grow into nine strong women, a team of warriors, The Wolves!  A wonderful hymn of life and liberty and the quest of happiness for nine girls who are determined to score some goals!

The Cypriot production of “Τhe Wolves”, by Fantastico Theatro Company, directed and translated by Magdalena Zira, who was honored, with the Creator of the Year Award (2019) of Cyprus Theatre Organization, is presented in Nicosia/Cyprus, from 12 September 2019, with an amazing cast of nine young actresses.
