SHREK THE MUSICAL!

Opening date: November 1st 2014

Opening of the first-class production “SHREK THE MUSICAL!” by the Children’s Stage of the National Theatre is set for Saturday, November 1st, at the main stage of ZILLER building (finally!).

The musical is based on the multi-award winning DREAMWORKS’ animated movie (2001) which had met enormous commercial success and on the book SHREK!, written by William Steig (1990). David Lindsay-Abaire is both the author and lyrics writer, while music is composed by Jeanine Tesori.

The show is under the direction and set designs of Aggelos Mentis. Adonis Galeos has translated the work in Greek, Kostas Nikolopoulos has undertaken the music supervision and orchestration, while the costumes – again by Aggelos Mentis – are based on the designs of the Tony Award winner Tim Hatley. It is worthy to mention that auditions of actors, dancers and singers for the specific production had an enormous participation.

THE ARTBASSADOR has granted the licence for the stage performances of the musical in the Greek language and the musical material, on behalf of Music Theatre International (MTI).
