JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF MUSIC-VALSE

Continuing the famous interactive concert series “Journey to the Centre of the Music”, the Athens State Orchestra presents its 2026 series' first concert, dedicated to the popular genre of the waltz!

Designed to introduce symphonic music to audiences through multimedia, the event highlights the evolution of the waltz, featuring marvelous music, videos and historical analysis, exploring hidden symbolism and musical patterns.

Under the music direction of the conductor Lukas Karytinos, the Orchestra will present beloved works by Dmitri Shostakovich, Aram Khachaturian, Richard Strauss, to name only a few.

ΤΗΕ ARTBASSADOR provided the Orchestra with the music material of the works, Jazz Suite No 2 Waltz II, by D. Shostakovich,  Masquerade Suite Waltz by A. Khachaturian & Waltz Sequence No.2 from Der Rosenkavalier, TrV 227a by Richard Strauss, on behalf of the Publishing Houses, Boosey & Hawkes and Luck's Music Library accordingly.
