G. Kapoutzidis

  A MULTI-TALENTED GREEK CREATOR

George Kapoutzidis is a Greek script writer and actor. He holds Undergraduate Degrees in Law by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and in Theatre Studies by the Drama School of Αthens.

He is the screenwriter and lead actor of the critically acclaimed television series “Saturday born” (2003-2004), “In the nick of time” (2005-2007") and ‘’Greek national’’ (2015). His works were honored with numerous TV awards, including the best screenplay award for the series “Saturday born” and “In the nick of time. It is worth mentioning that “In the nick of time» became one of the most famous and successful series in Greek television history, the highest award-winning comedy series in Greek television and continues to be broadcast until today.

At the same time the multi-talented creator boasts an impressive theatrical career. He has translated many famous, award- winning Musicals, including Rent (2009), Priscilla Queen of the desert (2014) in which he was also starring and Sweet Charity (2016).
His theatrical debut as a script writer and director with the play "If you want to break up, raise your hand"(2019) was an instant smash hit. The play was presented for three seasons in Athens, thrilling audiences and critics and became one of the biggest box office and artistic triumphs of this period. During the theatrical season 2021-2022, he had a leading role in the play “Glorious”, the international hit by the acclaimed playwright Peter Quilter, a performance which was one more enormous success.

Currently, his fourth TV series work, titled "Serres", is presented on the Greek television, captivating audiences and already enjoying rave reviews. At the same time, he has started writing his second play, with the title "42497", a work which the theatrical audience is looking forward to enjoy!
