PEERMUSIC

Peermusic Classical GmbH represents 20th/21st century composers worldwide.

For 60 years, Peermusic has successfully kept its pulse on the latest tendencies in an internationally networked music world. Over 800 composers from 58 countries are published by the house. In addition to high quality printed music, Peermusic Classical also produces its own CDs in collaboration with relevant labels such as col legno or cpo.

The Hamburg branch office for the European distribution of the Peermusic classical catalogue was opened in 1961. Under the direction of Dr. Flender, who is still with the company as artistic consultant, the catalogue of over 700 works has grown steadily since 1987 and was transformed into its own GmbH in 2008. Significant composers, among others, are Stefan Wolpe, Mathias Spahlinger, Theo Loevendie, Ahmed Adnan Saygun and Mieczyslaw Weinberg. The latest first releases of key works from the Peermusic classical catalogue are the CD recordings of Sayguns sinfonical works and the complete recordings of Weinbergs 17 string quartets by cpo. The first ground was broken in 1948 when Peermusic founded the concert music division in New York. Over 3000 works including modern classics, such as Charles Ives, Heitor Villa Lobos, Morten Lauridsen and Silvestre Revueltas are published here. This department has been directed by peermusic Vice President Todd Vunderink since 1986.
