The Athens State Orchestra presents “COMPOSERS REFUGEES”

On Friday, October 21st at Christos Lambrakis Venue of the Athens Concert Hall, the Athens State Orchestra in a concert entitled “Composers as refugees” executes magnificent works of the 20th century, written by composers who were forced to leave their homeland and become refugees, maintaining however their creativity and enchanting audience and critics with their work. The refugee crisis is the main theme of this special concert which aims to awaken our conscience towards this major problem of our time.

The program of the concert includes Erich Wolfgang Korngold’s work Concerto for violin and orchestra, opus 35 and Bela Bartok’s work Concerto for Orchestra. Mikel Kytson the Estonian Chief Musician is the conductor of the Orchestra.

The Artbassador provided the Orchestra with the music material of Korngold’s work on behalf of the publisher SCHOTT MUSIC and the music material of Bartok’s work on behalf of the publisher BOOSEY & HAWKES.
