Harry Partch: Delusion of the Fury

Harry Partch (1901-1974) was named by contemporary critics as the "Don Quixote" of music.

Today he is remembered as a highly inspired philosopher of music and a pioneer who was one of the first composers concerned with microtonality, inventing his own tonal system based on 43 closely spaced, pure microtones per octave and developing a plethora of his own unusual, mostly percussive, instruments.

At the opening of this year's Ruhrtriennale, Harry Partch's key work Delusion of the Fury from 1965-66 will be given its European Premiere, directed by Heiner Goebbels. Arnold Marinissen conducts ensemble musikFabrik.

Harry Partch works are published by Schott Music. More information
