EVERY BRILLIANT THING by Duncan Macmillan and Johnny Donahoe

In pan Hellenic premiere, at Theatro Tou Neou Kosmou!

“Every Brilliant Thing” by Duncan Macmillan (twice nominated for best new play at the Olivier awards) and Johnny Donahoe was performed for the first time in England on 2013 and since then it has been travelling all around the world. After the tremendous success in England, America, Australia and New Zealand, it first came to Greece in the spring of 2017 to be presented at Theatro Tou Neou KOSMOU in Athens, translated by Antonis Galeos and adaptation by Ioli Andreadis and Aris Asproulis. Iolis Andreadis also directed the Greek production.

The mother of a seven-year-old girl attempts to suicide. "It was something completely stupid, something that happens when one cannot be happy with anything," they told her. The little girl who wants to help her mother, starts writing a list of every little “brilliant” thing in the world for which one deserves to live. As adult now, she comes to tell her story, asking the audience to play the other characters of the story.

The actress Melina Theocharidou who lives in London, came to Greece to present this play and motivate us all to focus on all the brilliant things that surround us and not on the difficulties, returned to the country only for this performance.

The performance took place at the Theatro tou Neou Kosmou in Athens, from 10 Μarch to 7 May 2017 and on the 27th of May in the frame of Bob Theatre Festival 2017. It is currently on tour in Greece and Cyprus.
