ROMEO ET JULIETTE by Charles Gounod

The Greek National Opera will present for the first time in its history, the unique Opera ‘Romeo et Juliette’ by Charles Gounod. The work has been a huge success, since its first presentation in Paris in 1867 and remains the most popular Shakespearean drama.

The story of Verona's lovers, begins from their first innocent meeting with Juliette’s waltz to the tragic end of the two young lovers and the inconsolable monologue of Romeo over the dead body of Juliette.

The audience will have the chance to enjoy this melodic masterpiece, in this new production of the Greek National Opera, under the direction of Nikos Mastorakis, who presents for the first time his work in the lyric theatre and the music direction of the magnificent Loukas Karytinos.

For the needs of the performances, The Artbassador provided the Orchestra of GNO with the music material of the work ROMEO ET JULIETTE in music composition of Charles Gounod, on behalf of the Publishing House CHESTER MUSIC LTD.
